Applicant must plan to attend an accredited, 2-4 year college, university, or vocational school or program
Must participate in tennis or cheerleading

Plans to pursue major coursework in the area of Elementary or Secondary Education
Have a four-year overall minimum grade average of 85%
Demonstrates involvement in community service, extra-curricular activities, and financial need
Selection shall not be discriminatory on the basis of gender, race, religion, or similar characteristics of applicants

Pursing high education goals in business or education
Exhibits leadership and influence in school and class activities
Recipient will not necessarily be the most outstanding scholar nor the most sensational athletic, but rather to the individual who has worked diligently to master his/her selection of academic courses and has earned the respect of his/her teachers and fellow students because he/she possesses unquestionable integrity

Qualifications

Attend, full-time, an accredited institution of higher education, preferably in Pennsylvania
Plan to purse a course of study in education. Preference, but not required, to applicants pursuing an education for children with special needs
Exhibits good citizenship, be a leader with a sense of humor, be grounded, show tolerance of others, is honest and has integrity
Is involved in the community and makes a difference in the school community
Will have unmet financial need
Other than a strong potential for success, such factors as class rank and grade point average will not be criteria in making a selection unless in the judgment of the selection committee such factors are needed to distinguish between multiple potential candidates

Plan to major in elementary education
If there are no candidates with that objective, then a major in secondary education
If there are no candidates who plan to pursue an education major, then preference will be given to those whose educational and/or career objectives focus on working with children or community service
Preference will be given to applicants in good standing of the cheerleading squad
