T-Ross Brothers Construction, Inc. is a construction company based in Milton, PA which has specialized in the services of design-build, commercial and industrial construction, steel buildings, medical facilities, green building (LEED Accreditation), crane services and custom residential construction throughout Central Pennsylvania for over 65 years.
In 1996, brothers Tom and Todd Ross purchased the business from their father, Thomas H. Ross, after working their way up through the business. Today T-Ross Brothers Construction, Inc. continues to lead the industry with family values and integrity with an emphasis on quality.
In January 2018, the brothers established a permanent scholarship fund with the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania (FCFP). This fund aims to support two graduating seniors from any school district within Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, and Union Counties. Recipients of this scholarship will use the funding to attend college, university, vocational, or trade school, with the intention of pursuing a degree in a construction-related field of study. Eligible students must have maintained at least a B average during their senior year in high school. Preference for this scholarship is awarded to students with hands-on experience in the construction industry, especially those planning to study construction technology with a focus on general construction, carpentry, or construction management. Secondary preference is given to applicants pursuing degrees in architectural engineering.
Building for the Future
“The T-Ross Brothers Construction Scholarship is a wonderful example of a local business investing in the future of students in the area to encourage continued pipelines for job opportunities in central Pennsylvania.” says Marsha Lemons, Scholastic Initiatives Officer at FCFP.
Not only are the Ross Brothers making a difference in the lives of students, but they are also adding new workers to the construction industry. In a world where so many things are digital now, it’s important that we still have students getting excited about and choosing to go into the trades and “Building for the Future.” There are many attributes the construction industry offers, including the practical use of mathematics on multiple levels, problem solving skill enhancement, increasing individual attention to detail, tool and machine utilization and maintenance, communication growth and the importance of teamwork building skills. It’s important that the trades are not underestimated when students are deciding their future after high school.
“We’re building for the future, one student at a time,” states Todd Ross, President of T-Ross Brothers Construction. “These scholarships represent our commitment to investing in education and laying a stronger foundation for the expansion of the industry.”
If you know a student who has decided to join the construction industry after graduation that could benefit from the T-Ross Brothers Scholarship—or any of the other scholarships managed by FCFP—they can apply here.
