Community initiative offers 15% off qualifying estate planning services while encouraging charitable giving through the PA Giving Pledge.

First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania (FCFP) is launching Will Week, a community initiative taking place August 10–14, 2026, that encourages individuals and families to create or update their wills while learning how they can support the causes they care about through the PA Giving Pledge.

Coordinated by FCFP in partnership with local attorneys, Will Week connects individuals and families with trusted legal professionals throughout the region. Those who contact a participating attorney between August 10 and 14 and mention the code “FCFP Will Week” will receive 15% off qualifying estate planning services. While the call must be made during Will Week to receive the discount, appointments may be scheduled for a later date.

“Many people know they should have a will, but they aren’t sure where to start or assume the process will be difficult or expensive,” said Stephanie Steinbacher, Director of Donor Experience & Philanthropy at First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania. “Will Week is designed to remove some of those barriers by connecting individuals and families with trusted attorneys who can help them create a plan that reflects their wishes and protects the people and causes they love.”

As part of the initiative, participants will also learn about the PA Giving Pledge, a statewide campaign led by the Pennsylvania Community Foundation Association (PACFA) that encourages Pennsylvanians to consider leaving at least five percent of their estate to charitable causes that strengthen the communities they call home.

According to PACFA, more than $418 billion is expected to transfer between generations in Pennsylvania by 2030. If just five percent of that wealth were directed toward charitable giving, billions of dollars could remain in local communities to benefit nonprofits and expand their impact for years to come.

“We often think of a legacy as something we leave behind, but it’s really something we build throughout our lives,” said Jennifer D. Wilson, President and CEO of First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania. “A charitable gift in your estate plan is a powerful way to ensure the values, causes, and communities that have shaped you continue to thrive for generations. We’re grateful to the attorneys participating in Will Week for sharing their expertise with our community and partnering with us to make estate planning more accessible for individuals and families across our region.”

The PA Giving Pledge

Will Week is part of the PA Giving Pledge, a statewide initiative encouraging Pennsylvanians to consider leaving at least 5% of their estate to charitable causes.

Over the next decade, an estimated $418 billion will transfer between generations in Pennsylvania. The PA Giving Pledge was created to help ensure a portion of that wealth remains in the communities where it was earned, helping local nonprofits continue their work for future generations.

A charitable gift in your estate plan can support the causes that have shaped your life—whether that’s education, healthcare, the arts, conservation, faith-based organizations, human services, or other community priorities.

The pledge is entirely voluntary and can be tailored to reflect your personal values and philanthropic goals. Through thoughtful estate planning, it’s possible to provide for your loved ones while also creating a lasting impact in the communities you call home.

First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania is proud to support the PA Giving Pledge and help individuals and families explore charitable giving options as part of their legacy planning.
